The Shores Local FOP Lodge 79 / IUPA 6081 was founded on May 7th, 1986. Its membership is comprised of the front-line members of the Indian River Shores Public Safety Department. This small team of Triple-Certified and uniquely qualified individuals boasts the ability to respond to all Fire, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Medical needs of the town and is one of only two such agencies in the state. Our founding members whose signatures are posted here, set fourth the standard that service needs are unlimited, and as a result, so should our capabilities.

Faith in such unity essential for the mutual protection and advancement of the interests and general welfare of public safety workers in Indian River Shores, we have formed this Association the objects of which shall be to:
Organize all combat public safety workers.
Secure just compensation for their services and equitable settlement of their grievances.
We promote as safe and healthy a working environment for public safety workers as is possible through modern technology and the establishment of just and reasonable working conditions.
Our union strives to place the members of the Association on a higher plane of skill and efficiency.
We encourage the establishment of schools of instruction for imparting knowledge of modern and improved methods of policing, fire fighting and prevention, emergency medical, and rescue technology
We cultivate friendship and fellowship among our members. In doing so, our relationships with our employers and our comunities benefit.
